Our History

Founded in 1984 by Leonard Sevigney and Jack Lyons as a progressive, growth oriented insurance agency specializing in the hospitality and construction business, the goal was to “provide superior service to our customers by providing a thorough insurance portfolio to cover the customer’s personal and/or commercial needs.” The Sevigney Group was formed as a service company that allows small, independent agents to remain independent, yet gain access to the economies of scale found in the larger agencies. The Sevigney Group provides access to multiple insurance companies which translates to competitive products for our customers.

Our Present

The Sevigney Group is now 9 agencies and 12 locations strong and counting. Because of the power of the group, Sevigney’s members can offer lower premiums and better package prices to the consumer. From the mom and pop store on the corner, to the million dollar resort on the ocean, The Sevigney Group can compete with any agency in New England.

Our Future

The goal for the future is to concentrate our efforts within the New England area. We presently stretch from Portsmouth, NH to Turner, ME, west from Dover, NH to Waterboro, ME. We are not looking to grow in numbers, but in quality.
